About Tim…

Welcome to TimFarrell.org. That's me on the left at a Mets game in 2014. I was a photojournalist for over thirty years, working for newspapers in Westchester Co., NY and Morris Co., NJ, before joining the staff of The Star-Ledger in 1995. At the Ledger I'd covered the gamut of news, sports and feature assignments, including the World Series, the NBA Finals, the Stanley Cup finals and Super Bowls. If you'd like to see some of my work, I keep it at TimFarrell.net. Feel free to check it out - I'll be making some updates to the content in the comping months.

Life is not always fair. I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor, or PNET, in 2014. I've documented part of that struggle in a forum I call The Cancerboy Chronicles, a log of thoughts and observations. You can find that blog over at Loosely Cropped.com. There's a bunch of other horse sh*t there too… Not just cancer woes 24/7. I try not to make it too depressing.

I grew up Nyack, NY, and live in that area still, with my wife Sue and our dogs. Whenever I can muster the strength, I still enjoys working in the garden, cooking, playing golf and billiards and listening to classical music. I have in my convalescence become quite the internet troll. [sarcasm]
